FAME Routines Only / Open Dance gives the spotlight to performers of all ages and levels to showcase their creativity and talent.
Routines Only is an excellent opportunity for dancers, athletes, cheerleaders, martial artists, yoga & fitness enthusiasts to participate in a competitive sport beyond college and high school. It is also great for those of us who were never athletic and want to aspire to a new goal.

1 ROUND - ROUTINE (100%)
This round gives competitors the opportunity to perform a two-minute athletic routine choreographed to music of their choice. The routine should demonstrate personality, creativity, athleticism and overall entertainment.
Routines should be unique and perfectly choreographed to wow the audience, judges, media and sponsors! Props, themes &/or costumes are allowed and encouraged if they add to the overall performance.
The entire routine should be fluid, well choreographed and make use of the whole stage. High energy and the wow factor should be maintained from start to finish.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
No Mandatory Moves: Only perform stunts or movements that you are comfortable with. Points will actually be deducted for moves or flips that are not properly executed. For this reason, you will actually score better if you only use moves that you are able to perform flawlessly.
Impress the Judges:. Choreography and transitions should be fluid and it should not appear as though the competitor is setting up their next move. Routines should be fun, entertaining and full of energy and personality. Competitors should connect with the audience and include facial expressions and smiles. Use the whole stage and make effective use of music, props and themes, if they are part of the performance. You may incorporate any other talents you have so as to make your routine even more unique!
Props: Props may be used but are not required. Please ensure that if you choose to use props that you are using them effectively as part of your routine. You are not given a higher score if you have a prop, but having a prop could add to the overall entertainment value of your routine if incorporated well. Prop set up & tear down must not take longer than 20 seconds, as this just delays the show for everyone. If you have any large or unusual props such as dry ice, smoke or pyrotechnics, please contact us. Thanks!
Music: Routine music should be professionally recorded complete with sound effects and song &/or beat changes to make it unique. Athletes must hand in their music on CD at the athlete registration meeting.
Attire: For the Routine Round athletes are expected to be creative. The point is to entertain the audience so elaborate costumes and themes are the norm. This is your time to play and enjoy!! Footwear is optional. Thongs and outfits that may seem overly provocative can result in a deduction of points.
Stage Size: Generally events have a stage no smaller than 24 by 30 wide. Sometimes they are a lot larger. When practicing your routine, come prepared to modify if necessary to fit the stage dimensions. You may also contact the show promoter in advance to find out the dimensions if they are not listed on the site.
